Jacques Polge
Jacques Polge is the in-house perfumer at the prestigious French perfume house, Chanel. He is responsible for creating some of the most iconic and beloved fragrances in the world.
Polge was born in Grasse, France, in 1943. His father, Henri Polge, was also a perfumer, and Jacques followed in his footsteps by studying at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. After graduation, he began his career working for several different fragrance houses including Hermes and Guy Laroche. He joined Chanel in 1978 and became the head perfumer in 1987. Polge has won numerous awards for his work, including the French Academy of Perfumes’ Prix François Coty in 1984 and the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2009.
